ITALIAN INSTABILITY TERRIFIES THE EU ?

The recent Elections in Italy and the Economic condition of the country which has high unemployment and rising costs, have created doubts and shudders in all the member countries of the EU. 

The reactions in the Press are often incoherent and do little to explain to EU citizens what could happen next !   The fact that EU Leaders and Ministers are seriously preoccupied by the Italian demise is clear : the country is heading towards "bankruptcy" or "insolvency" ! 

On a much smaller scale Greece was also facing similar problems in recent years.   BUT, Italy has the 3rd largest Economy in the EU and the EURO is its currency ! 

It is the EUROZONE countries which will feel the brunt of any swings in the value of the EURO on the exchange markets !   The EURO exchange rate must be protected but it could be costly.

Angela Merkel and all the Leaders of the EUROZONE will be calculating the cost of all the measures which must be imposed on Italy if it remains in the EUROZONE !

They will also want to modify operating principles to ensure Italy again becomes profitable !   Changing or creating new EU principles for EUROZONE necessities could create problems.

Could Italy "EXIT" the EUROZONE or even the EU ?   Everyone will consider that possibility : but it is complex, the cost is huge, and the time needed is very long !   

Comparably, the "little BREXIT" is dead easy !

GB : NO TIME LIMIT FOR PROSECUTIONS ?

Once again, this time in the Daily Mail today, one reads how an former soldier, now aged 77, has for 41 years been harrassed over the killing of an IRA suspect in 1974 in Northern Ireland by investigating "prosecutors" !

Was this "killing", supposedly by Dennis Hutchings, a soldier on active duty, a premeditated "a murder" ?  Did he personally materially "benefit" from this killing ?

Is there no time limit for prosecuting soldiers for "war incidents" ?    (The Nuremburg War Crimes are not comparable.) 

Finally, how many Irish Terrorists are still being hounded ?

MACRON COULD SOLVE EU "DRUGS PROBLEMS" !

As promised in his Election Campaign President Macron has already launched numerous investigations to identify the changes needed to make France more competitive and more attractive for its inhabitants.

In July this year Macron will tackle the illegal drug sales by "Drug Baron gangs" who dominate life in certain surburban areas.   This situation exists not only in France but also in several countries of the EU, as well as many other countries World-wide !

An article in this Blog (1) identified some of the difficulties involved when action is taken.  The  conclusion was that meaningful action can only be taken when all EU countries co-operate and decide to act together.

During his first year in office President Macron has travelled widely, trying to find new solutions for enduring political problems.   With his experience and contacts he could well become the leader to solve the "Drugs Problems" in the EU !

CORBYN WANTS TO OUTDO MERKEL ?

In 2015 Angela Merkel the German Chancellor, took pity on the plight of the refugees fleeing from the war-torn Middle East.  As there was a shortage of skilled labour in Germany for its industries, she invited SKILLED refugees to come there !

Millions of Refugees, some with members of their family, suddenly arrived on E U borders aiming to reach Germany.   Stricter Border Controls then had to be introduced.

Now Jeremy Corbyn wants to lift all immigrant restrictions preventing entry into Britain !  Why ? 

Does Corbyn not realise that such a "heaven sent" Policy would liberate the EU of ALL its unwanted immigrants ?  The EU would certainly also provide Boats on stand by in Calais to ensure a speedy transfer of all unwanted visitors to Dover !

Even if Corbyn now has afterthoughts and cancels this idea, because it is not a "Vote catcher", could one trust him afterwards ?  With his Communist left-wing background, could he ever become the typical Prime Minister British Voters would want to elect ?
